The private sector is responsible for more than 80% of the GIP and the rent per capita represents 7,300 euro annually, ascending in Budapest up to 12,500 Euro. Wages are growing at a rate of 8.5% annually. At the moment Inflation is controlled, reaching a modest rate of 1.67% last year.
Budapest is the capital of Hungary, as well as its main industrial and commercial center of transport. Located to the borders of the Danube River, its population is 1.7 million according to the 2005 census, which represents a fifth of the total population of Hungary. It is the seventh largest city in the European Union.
With its three hoisted avenues and their ample seats bordered by buildings of modern aspect, she is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is formed by the administrative union of two separated nuclei, one of Buddha, in the western border of the Danube, and one of Pest, in the Eastern one, made in 1873. The sector of Buddha rises on a stepped plateau and conserves the rest of the Turkish occupation. The old Real Palace is on the top of the hill, whose feet are the famous medicinal water springs. The area of Pest occupies the level part and in her are the Parliament (inaugurated in 1896), the Academy of Sciences, the Museum of Beautiful Arts, the Palace of Justice, the University Eötvös Loránd (1635), the Customs and the National Museum. The wharves and the industrial zone are located in the new part of the nucleus of Pest. Both nuclei, the one of Buddha and of Pest, are connected by six bridges on the Danube River, between which is one of the largest suspension bridges in Europe.
The climate of Budapest is tempered, with warm summers and winter is cold and short.
A study done by DTZ classifies Budapest as the third best European city to conduct businesses, surpassing capitals like Paris and Prague. The low costs of operation and life and the high level of education have made Budapest a very attractive location for foreign companies. Many multinational companies like IBM, GMC, COCA COLA, GENERAL ELECTRIC, MOTOR SUZUKI COMPANY and many more, have opened offices and seats in Budapest.
